Lite is two centimetres narrower, one kilogram lighter and one listed litre larger. Those figures remove the usual ambiguity: on the standard Cabin comparison, the lighter case does not require a capacity sacrifice.

Under a 7 kg limit, Essential leaves 3.8 kg for contents and Lite leaves 4.8 kg. Under 8 kg, the figures become 4.8 kg and 5.8 kg. One kilogram can mean a laptop charger, another pair of shoes and a wash bag—or the difference between boarding and repacking at the gate.
