Choose it when a recurring airline rule creates the need. Walk away when your carriers rarely weigh cabin baggage, when a personal item always rides on the handle, or when you want a Trunk. In those circumstances, standard Essential's richer interior and broader range are worth the extra kilogram. Lightness is valuable only when it solves a problem you actually have.
