RIMOWA Size Guide

Compare RIMOWA Cabin S, Cabin, Cabin Plus, Check-In, and Trunk sizes by trip length, airline risk, and packing style.

快速答案

Cabin S is the conservative carry-on choice, Cabin is the standard RIMOWA carry-on for most short trips, Cabin Plus gives more room but creates more airline-fit risk, Check-In sizes are better for one to two weeks, and Trunk sizes suit bulky packing.

Cabin S keeps the same height and width as Cabin but is shallower.
Cabin is RIMOWA's standard carry-on size and is positioned for roughly 3 to 4 days.
Cabin Plus is the most spacious carry-on but is the first size to question on strict airlines.
Check-In M and L are better for trips where carry-on limits would force too many compromises.
Measurements include wheels and handles, so compare against airline rules carefully.
01Carry-on

Cabin S, Cabin, and Cabin Plus serve different risk levels

The common mistake is treating every RIMOWA cabin label as equally airline-safe. They are not equal in practice.

Cabin S is the better answer when you fly stricter international routes, regional aircraft, or airlines with narrow depth limits. Cabin is the more balanced pick. Cabin Plus is attractive if you board early, know your aircraft, and can tolerate occasional gate-check risk.

  • Cabin S: best for risk-averse carry-on buyers.
  • Cabin: best default for frequent short trips.
  • Cabin Plus: best for space, weakest for strict carry-on rules.
02Checked luggage

Check-In and Trunk sizes are about packing shape

Check-In M and L are easier to understand by trip length: medium for roughly a week, large for longer trips. Trunks are more vertical and useful when packing bulky items that do not sit cleanly in a flatter suitcase.

For checked luggage, the main search question changes from overhead fit to weight allowance, durability, and how comfortable you are with cosmetic wear after baggage handling.

03Selection rule

Use trip length, airline strictness, and packing density

If you pack dense items such as shoes, camera equipment, or winter clothes, weight limits can matter before physical capacity does. A larger suitcase is not always a better suitcase if it encourages overweight packing.

For one suitcase that covers the most trips, Cabin plus a separate personal item is usually easier to live with than Cabin Plus on stricter routes.

常見問題

Is RIMOWA Cabin Plus allowed as carry-on?
Sometimes, but it is less conservative than Cabin or Cabin S. It can be accepted on some routes and rejected on stricter airlines or aircraft, so check the exact airline size and weight rules before relying on it.
What RIMOWA size should I buy for international travel?
For carry-on-only international travel, Cabin S is safest and Cabin is the balanced option. For checked luggage, Check-In M or L is usually easier than forcing a long trip into a carry-on.
Does RIMOWA measure wheels and handles?
RIMOWA product measurements include wheels and handles, which is the right way to compare against airline size boxes.
